With companies both new and long-established being placed as 2017 finalists, the awards celebrate the tremendous work that is still being done by the more well-known names, as well as the upcoming innovations which have proven to be game-changers for the offshore sector.
The individual awards presented on the night are always particularly special. For the past couple of years, companies and societies have reiterated the importance of inspiring the next generation - make sure that those who may have considered a career in the oil & gas and renewables industries do not feel disheartened by the recent downturn.
This mentality was particularly apparent from the speeches delivered by Young Professional winner and runner up, respectively Marianne McKevitt (BP) and Mandy Johnstone (N-Sea). With both using their time of stage to thank their teams and colleagues for the tremendous support they have received from the start of their careers, both reiterated that the milestones they have achieved are the result of support from the industry, hard work, commitment and taking every opportunity given to them.
At Mearns & Gill, we would like to say a huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists! For the full list of winners, and for more information on the OAA, visit the website.
