We worked closely with the in-house communications team at Total, who we’ve developed a great relationship with over our years working together. Though the team has seen changes over the years, we’ve always taken a collaborative approach to these events to ensure the client gets exactly what they imagine when they walk into the event.
After meeting with Total to discuss the event, it became clear that they wanted to host an event that would immediately feel like Spring. With the desire to avoid a more traditional garden party feel, Total imagined a colour palette of vibrant violets, electric blues and shocking pinks. Their brief led to the development of an event brand that captured the essence of a warm Spring evening combined with the celebratory feel they wanted to achieve.
The theme and messaging for the event was developed with the studio and from there the event name, Spring Soirée and the visual style was created. During the process, several creative treatments were considered and tested, but one design came out on top.
The design encompasses the bright colours the client wanted to include within branches and leaves in a more graphic style. This gave the contemporary and striking look that Total wanted to achieve while staying true to the original brief.
The injection of vibrancy into all event materials along with bringing the outdoor element into the design in a striking way, meant we could achieve the look that Total was going for.
For the room itself, draping was installed across the roof to give a dramatic centrepiece for the room. By shining uplighters straight up into the drapes, and with the colours bouncing off the white dancefloor below, we achieved just the right mix of colour and glamour.
The roof was also filled with hanging origami style birds which added even more colour and wow factor to the room, as well as providing a sophisticated way of bringing the outdoors in. Finished off with brightly coloured linens for the tables and a looping waterfall video complete with rainforest sounds playing on large screens, the room was complete and guests were absolutely wowed by the final product.
Throughout the evening, an animation produced by Mearns & Gill was looped on screens to keep the brand going. This utilised the leaf pattern from the print materials, further reiterating the outdoor element.
At the event we ensured that all elements fit in with the theme. From entertainment to the menu, it was vital to capture the vibrancy required. The event management team was on hand throughout the evening to make sure the entire event, from first arrival to the last dance, ran smoothly.
