From our review of the existing format, we came to the conclusion that the catalogue would benefit from increased editorial and new introductory sections to the product categories. This would provide Jamieson & Carry with the opportunity to provide some insight into the product category, any significant changes that have taken place over the year to date, as well as exciting trends or news pertaining to the year ahead.
As part of the review of the brochure format we also introduced new category page markers to provide visual signposting for the reader to help them navigate through the catalogue more efficiently.
In terms of the design of the catalogue, we created a new foil blocked front cover design and introduced a new font to add some additional charm and character. We also brought in a new product key at the bottom of each product page to clearly identify the product characteristics and price. Full page imagery was also introduced to break up the product gallery pages and to show some of the jewellery actually being worn.
Upon approval of the catalogue design we supplied the design template to Hannover Saffron who handled all the product photography and re-touching. These product pages were then interspersed throughout the catalogue pages designed by Mearns & Gill.
