M&G has been named on the shortlist for the Podcast Rising Star category at the True Crime Awards 2026 for its podcast RGU Crime Files.
The podcast is hosted and produced by Pete McIntosh in our Podcast Room and was created in partnership with the Robert Gordon University School of Law and Social Sciences.
Each episode explores a real historic crime case connected to the North-east of Scotland, examining not only what happened but the legal and social questions the cases raise today. The series combines storytelling with expert insight from academics at the university.
The podcast was also developed as a creative way to showcase the expertise within the School of Law and Social Sciences. using compelling true crime storytelling to engage audiences while highlighting research and teaching taking place at RGU.

The series has been shortlisted in the Podcast Rising Star category, which recognises emerging productions making an impact in the true crime genre. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in June.
