Embracing the future of brand, events and marketing: Hello, 2025!

In 2024, we strengthened our team with the addition of several talented individuals: Kevin Mitchell as our Head of Digital, Dianne Youngson as Digital Marketing Manager, Fraser McGillivray as Business Development Manager for Aberdeen, and David Benjamin as Business Development Manager for the Central Belt. Our expansion into the Central Belt marked a significant milestone, allowing us to broaden our reach and connect with new clients in this dynamic region.

At Mearns & Gill, creativity and strategic innovation is in our DNA, and this year was no exception. We’ve been hard at work crafting campaigns that not only stand out but also deliver real results. Some of our standout achievements include:

  • Connecting with Clients: Through interactive workshops, we gained invaluable insights into our clients’ needs, allowing us to deliver bespoke solutions that truly hit the mark.
  • Digital Triumphs: Our digital team flexed their creative muscles with innovative social media campaigns for mid-sized e-commerce clients. The result? Increased engagement, new audiences, and tangible business growth
  • Brand Evolution and Design Excellence: 2024 was a standout year for our brand and design team, who brought their expertise to a range of industries including sports, energy, legal, and retail. We helped evolve established brands, create entirely new identities, and deliver impactful rebrands and brand extensions. Each project was tailored to reflect our clients’ unique visions, translate across mediums, and resonate in today’s dynamic market.
  • Event Excellence: From planning to execution, we delivered standout events across industries such as Total, SPE, ICoTA, to Jamieson & Carry, Trades Awards and the Aberdeen Health and Wellbeing Festival with the Stoltman Brothers. Let’s not forget our successful TV advert campaign for ASPC, which brought homes to life across all screens and platforms.

2024 has been a year of achievements, big and small. Here are just a few of the milestones we’re especially proud of:

  • Sustainable Commitment: Sustainability is close to our hearts, and we’re delighted to have maintained our carbon-neutral status. This year, we reduced emissions by 3 tonnes and supported the Malawi Community Handpump project to offset what remained.
  • Running for a Cause: Our adventurous team tackled the Beast Race in Banchory, raising vital funds for Charlie’s House Charity – mud, sweat, and tears included!
  • Podcasting Pros: We launched our own podcast series, sharing insights and stories that matter. We also produced several podcasts for clients, taking their messages to new audiences.
  • In-House Media Studio: Our broadcast-quality media studio was supporting everything from award video production to international live-streaming. Notably, we delivered a live-streaming production for Johnston Carmichael, connecting audiences across the country. The studio also served as a professional space for media training and bespoke filming, enhancing our content creation capabilities.

In 2024 we were shortlisted at the 2025 Northern Star Business Awards for Marketing Magic with our Stoltman Brothers campaign.

Our events team were finalists for Best Agency Events Planner at the Scottish E Awards and Best Conference/Events Team (up to 100 employees) at the Conference and Events Awards 2024.

The icing on the cake? We’ve been named one of the “Top 100 Most Loved Companies to Work For”, as part of the Breakthrough Culture Award: Growth Edition!
