As an agency, we’re passionate about community engagement and promoting healthier lifestyles, so organising the Aberdeen Health and Wellbeing Festival is a labour of love for our team. This year’s event took place on Saturday, 11th January 2025, at the Beach Ballroom, which with the beach as a backdrop, is the perfect venue. This annual event is more than just a festival, it’s a celebration of the best health and wellbeing professionals that the area has to offer, coming together to inspire, motivate, and educate the North East of Scotland.
A Community-Driven Initiative
The festival, co-founded by Dr Emma Windle and Sarah Stewart, was created from their shared passion for making health and wellbeing accessible to all. Their dedication has been recognised with the prestigious Athena Award, honouring their commitment to community wellbeing while balancing professional and personal responsibilities. Their vision aligns perfectly with our mission to support initiatives that bring real benefits to local communities.
The Power of Collaboration
The festival’s success is a testament to the power of collaboration. Thanks to generous sponsorship from organisations like Omexom, Aberdeen Sports Village, and Expro, the event remained completely free to attend. These partnerships don’t just provide financial support, they get involved with engaging workshops, interactive activities, and expert-led discussions. Working with these sponsors has been brilliant for the festival, demonstrating how collective efforts can make a real difference.
A Line-Up to Inspire
This year’s festival offered an exciting programme of speakers, exhibitors, and hands-on workshops. Highlights included panel discussions on ‘Changing Perspectives,’ ‘Youth Wellbeing,’ and ‘Your Wellbeing at Work.’ Notable speakers included journalist and boxing influencer Frank Gilfeather, Invictus Games gold medallist David Jarvis, and Olympian Hannah Miley MBE.
We were also super excited to welcome back the Stoltman Brothers, the world’s strongest brothers, and passionate advocates for mental and physical health. Their presence brought incredible energy to the festival, as they shared their inspiring journey, took part in discussions, and even joined in the North Sea Dip!
Engaging the North East Community
We take immense pride in contributing to an event that brings together over 60 exhibitors, local entertainers, and a huge variety of wellbeing-focused workshops. The festival isn’t just about showcasing the fantastic businesses and resources available in the North East—it’s about creating a sense of community, encouraging people to explore new ways to improve their health, and making wellbeing accessible to all. Seeing attendees leave feeling inspired and empowered reinforces the importance of our work in promoting this incredible event.
Why Local Businesses Should Get Involved
There are so many ways for local businesses to support this fantastic event. Whether through sponsorship, exhibiting, or simply encouraging employees to attend, businesses have a real opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the North East.
Sponsoring the festival not only helps keep it free for attendees but also aligns companies with a meaningful cause, showcasing a commitment to employee wellbeing and corporate social responsibility.
Exhibiting provides a platform to connect with an engaged audience, raise brand awareness, and demonstrate the products or services that can make a difference in people’s lives.
For employers, encouraging staff to visit the festival is a powerful way to prioritise workplace wellbeing, offering employees access to expert advice, inspiring speakers, and activities that promote both mental and physical health. A healthier workforce is a happier, more productive one, and supporting this festival is a fantastic way for businesses to invest in their people and their local community.
