A comms function built for real impact
Step Change in Safety is a member-led, not-for-profit organisation with a clear and vital mission: to prevent incidents and injuries across the energy industry. They drive this through active leadership, member collaboration and genuine workforce engagement; strengthening safety culture from the ground up.
When Step Change in Safety first approached us, they had no in-house comms team, no media presence, and no strategic framework for growing awareness of their mission.
We were brought in to change all of that; building the team a comprehensive communications strategy that covered everything from proactive media relations to digital channels, leadership positioning and content creation.
A flagship part of that work was reviving Tea Shack News – a beloved industry publication that had been dormant for four years. We relaunched it as a cornerstone of Step Change in Safety's 'voice of the workforce' commitment, giving members a platform to speak, share and shape the conversation. The publication went on to earn recognition at two of the industry's most prestigious awards programmes.
Combined Audience Reach
With a growing remit that now extends into nuclear and renewables, Step Change in Safety is better placed than ever to lead the safety conversation across a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
